Avoid Overloading or Overstocking
Overloading a washing machine and dryer or overstocking a fridge and freezer can cause severe damage. When you launder an excessively large load of clothes, you potentially keep the washing machine drum from spinning sufficiently and restrict airflow in the dryer. Similarly, when your refrigerator’s airflow is restricted, you may have temperature fluctuations that result in spoiled food.
Keep Appliances Clean
It’s especially important to clean water- and food-related appliances such as ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, and refrigerators. Regardless of the type of appliance, bacteria and germs will build up over time and increase the chances of mold growth.
Replace Filters Routinely
Did you know your oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and furnace have filters that need to be changed periodically? If you didn’t, your appliance might be on the brink of an issue. Excessively dirt filters can clog hoses and cause inefficient operation.
