A True Story Christmas Poem..... 'Twas two days before Christmas, and all through the house, Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The dishes were piled, a mountain of grime, With twenty-two guests coming, I was running out of time. I opened the dishwasher, and what did I see? Water still sitting, oh, woe is to me! I called up Mr. Appliance, my heart filled with dread, “Please help me,” I pleaded, “or we’ll all go unfed!” The lady on the phone, so calm and so bright, Said, “Check your drain plug; it’s probably tight.” With hope in my heart, I rushed to the sink, Could this be the answer? I paused just to think. I loosened the plug, and with a twist and a turn, The water began to drain, oh, how my heart burned! The dishes all washed, the kitchen now gleamed, Thanks to Mr. Appliance, they made my holiday dreams. So here’s to the fixers, the ones who save days, Who help us with problems in so many ways. With twenty-two coming, I’ll raise up a cheer, Merry Christmas to all, and a Happy New Year!
